Author of the week! Each Week the students and I pick a new Author of the Week. We use books from our classroom, the children’s homes and the library (school and public). If the author does mostly chapter books, we will keep him/her more then a week so that the students have a chance to read the entire book. We also tweet out to the authors letting them know that they are being read in our room! We have gotten re-tweets before from Jan Brett and Laura Numeroff!! Try it out!
