Mirroring 360 – Splashtop

Thank you to Splash Top for donating a Mirroring 360 license to the EdCamp Baltimore last Saturday. I was lucky enough to be the winner of this amazing prize. The second I downloaded the application, I was ready to use it in my classroom.

I am lucky enough to have a personal iPad that I allow my students to use in the classroom. In the beginning of each year, I try to explain how the iPad works and walk around my classroom (as many as 29 Third graders) to show them the screen as I give directions. Needless to say, when it is their opportunity to use the iPad, they have a million questions because it was hard for them to see what I was talking about without it right in front of them.

Now I have the power to mirror my iPad screen directly onto my computer which allows me to project the image onto the screen for all to see. This will make explaining directions or showing the students a new application 100% more efficient and effective. I also have the ability to download the Google Chrome extension onto any computer to project the image from my iphone or other devices.

I am excited to use this for instructional purposes and for presenting at professional developments. I will keep you updated throughout the year to tell you ways that I have used this amazing new tool!
